Education of Women
"A good girl like me wasting my talents by not going up to high school?"
During the education of women in the 1940s, women were expected to graduate high school, maybe go to college, and get married and raise children. Many women did not go onto college, and instead remained housewives. There were two tracks in high school: one track was for those seeking high career paths and to go onto college, and the other was for those who wanted to stop their education once high school was finished. However, education became more advanced in this time. In 1948, Cambridge University admitted women to the school for the first time.
